PDW Payload Rack Installation on Omega/Atlas

Install the included L-brackets on each side of the bike as shown below, using the low-profile screws. Install the L-brackets to the frame without the rack mounted to the brackets, ensuring the bracket is straight in line with the frame.

On the rack, loosen the hardware for the upper stay, slide it all the way forward, and then swing the stay so that it points forward. Keep the hardware loose for now.

Remove the screw for the vertical fender strut on each side of the bike.

Using the longer supplied bolts put the hardware through the rack strut and then the fender strut. Thread it back into the frame. Note that the sequence is bolt, washer, rack strut, fender strut and then the frame.

Attach both left and right lower stays to the frame. Keep these loose at this point.

Attach the upper rack struts to the L brackets as shown below. Note the sequence is bolt, L bracket, upper rack strut, washer, nut.

Adjust the rack so that it is roughly level, then tighten the upper stay hardware where it attaches to the rack.

Tighten the hardware holding the upper rack stay to the L bracket.

Now tighten the lower rack strut hardware on both sides.

Remove the light mounted to the seat collar by opening up the quick release lever and un-threading the bolt from the other side.

Disconnect the light at the Julet plug and set aside. Connect the light extension and run the wire under the rack towards the rear.

Remove the nut on the back side of the tail light.

Mount the light to the bracket on the rear of the rack and tighten the nut. NOTE: the silver bracket on the light does not come off because the wire passes through it.

Use some pliers to bend the light bracket until the light is level.

Use some zip ties to fasten the light wire under the rack. At the very least make sure there is no slack that hits the tire as shown below but you can also use many zip ties to have the wire run down the the L brackets, up the upper stay and then along the underside of the rack.
